de Laat & Schreurs

I Found You Found Me

When the Dutch bassist Henk de Laat and the Belgian jazz pianist Dirk Schreurs met for a concert tour in 2006, there was an immediate artistic spark between the expressive qualities of the acoustic piano, the refined lyricism of the double bass and Henk’s remarkable vocal abilities. And this was only the beginning of a series of magical rhythmic and harmonic adventures. The innovative arrangements of jazz standards and own compositions for piano, acoustic bass and the voice – performed without drums or percussion – will certainly keep you attentive to your seat. Recently their musical adventures were beautifully captured in a contemporary recording and released as the album I Found You Found Me. Both musicians would like to invite you to join them on a refreshing journey into a musical universe where vocal and instrumental jazz become one in a mysterious and organic way. It’s about the piano, the bass and the voice. And you.
